Books

The Social Policy Review is an edited collection of papers examining current developments and debates in social policy. It is produced once a year and published by the Policy Press. SPA members receive a free copy as part of their membership package from 2004 onwards. Full information on the current volume and recent back issues can be found on the Policy Press website - along with an online ordering facility.

The Understanding Welfare book series is edited by SPA Chair Saul Becker. Features:

The SPA occasionally endorses social policy related books such as the Student's Companion to Social Policy and the Dictionary of Social Policy.

In addition, the SPA is also responsible for various other one-off publications on issue of concern to its members, such as the Dearing enquiry and report, the Teaching Quality Assessment exercise and the Research Assessment exercise.
